Tiago Forte’s “Building a Second Brain” concept has several ideas, the main principles include:
I am currently working on point 3. Using digital tools (this website) to organise my tech notes, ideas and projects.
There are two main items I will be focusing on, tech, skills I am learning, dabbling in new projects and fitness, cause at the end of the health is wealth.
Some of the items I plan to publish about is self hosting projects, such as the pi-hole, retro-pie, actual budget and so on.
Currently learning python, will share useful projects I come across and my learning resources.
Fitness is my other passion, this years goal is to achieve an aesthetic functional physique. Just like tech has so many avenues the same goes with fitness a lot of topics in mind.
The tech landscape is competitive, having a strong personal brand is more valuable than ever. A one page resume highlights your skills but a blog can help you back it up. A blog servers as:
A platform to showcase expertise
A portfolio of technical writing
A way to connect with like minded professionals
My website was originally hosted on wordpress, but it ended up being a land page and never posted a single blogpost. This is due to my lack of knowledge of wordpress and my eagerness to keep changing the look and feel of the site.
With this site, I have stuck with the basics and focusing on results. New features will be added when they are needed but the main purpose is to post my technical writings.
This is a static site hosted on HUGO, repo is published on GitHub but kept private and using Cloudflare pages to host it completely free. The only thing I currently pay for is my domain name and professional email.
I’m excited to start this blogging journey, and I invite you to join me. Whether you’re interested in infrastructure, self-hosting, or the intersection of technology and fitness, there’s something here for you.
For now you can follow me on Linkedin and I will be placing a subscribe button but thats another feature for another date.
